Jared Jones, CFP®
Associate Financial Advisor
Why I work for Omega: Since the 10th grade, when I took my first personal finance class, I knew I wanted to be a financial planner. At Omega I’m able to practice my passion every day. With our hands on approach to Financial Life Planning, I have a unique opportunity to get to know our clients’ dreams and goals. With this information I’m a part of developing a Financial Life Plan that helps them achieve these dreams and goals. I find great satisfaction in helping others and enjoy watching them achieve their goals.
What I do here at Omega: As an Associate Financial Advisor, it’s my job to be an initial point of contact for our clients, helping answer any concerns or questions. I also help prepare for meetings by gathering information and financial data.
My educational background/experience: I am a 2015 graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a concentration in the Certified Financial Planning® track. I was awarded the CFP® designation in May, 2017, having passed the exam and satisfied the experience requirements. In 2017 I began a 12-month training program with the Financial Transition Institute to become a Certified Financial Transitionist®. I expect to have completed these requirements by the fall of 2018. In the Fall of 2016, I attended a two-day workshop on Money Maturity taught by George Kinder, a leading voice in the Financial Life Planning community. I am an active member of the Financial Planning Association NexGen community, a group of FPA members under the age of 36 that focuses on the next generation of financial professionals.
