It’s Complicated…
Hello and Happy Fall! As I write this letter from Family Weekend in Chicago for one of my twins, I just sat in a “model class” about economics and what the students learn from the professors here. The particular professor, Allen Sanderson, recently wrote an article about “Transitioning from the “I-word” to the “R-word”. Obviously, we are talking about moving from the talk and experience around higher inflation to a possible recession. In his mind, and now our investment partner SEI’s mind…it’s coming. What’s interesting is to think about a shift from a focus on the cost of living to a concern around our standard of living and how it may change. That shift is worth taking in. For many Omega clients, they will navigate the shift pretty well, albeit nervously, but having been on this journey together before we know we will get through it.
