Greetings from Washington, D.C., where winter has arrived with snow, cold temperatures, and a set of challenges. Our thoughts are with those impacted by last week’s air tragedy. As we navigate the transitions brought by the new Administration, we want to take a moment to reflect on key highlights from 2024 and look ahead to what promises to be an eventful 2025 working with you.

First and foremost, the State of Omega is excellent. We had another record year with thoughtful growth driven by a number of new clients and a solid stock market year.  We celebrated 25 years in business with a big celebration on November 1st and got to dine and reconnect in person with many of our new and long-time clients, some of which have been with us since before 1999!  After some transitions at the beginning of the year, we have a fantastic, energetic and committed Team working on your behalf.  Our main addition was our new Office Manager, Rachel Braddock, who we hope you have interacted with either in person or virtually.

In April, we moved into beautiful, and much more modern offices on the Ballston-Rosslyn Metro line (should you decide to Metro to come see us!)  We were able to get a great deal given the state of commercial real estate, and expect to be here the next 7 years or so.  At some point, we hope you’ll come visit our new space, complete with on-tap cold brew and plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Tech Updates

2024 was a year of important technology updates, some of which you may have already experienced through automated, on-demand scheduling, and a new system to help us coordinate with you to update your financial information. We are looking forward to leveraging that, and other software to bring you an elevated Client Experience in 2025 and beyond.

Awards & Accolades

We had a lot to celebrate and be honored with:

  • Omega was named late in 2024 to the Newsweek 2025 Top RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) firms in America (top 750 firms out of 15,000).
  • Lisa was named once again to the Northern Virginia magazine Top Financial Professionals list, as well as the Money.com Top Financial Planners.
  • Jared Jones, as well as Lisa, have been named to the 2025 Washingtonian magazine Top Financial Advisor list!  This is Jared’s first time earning this important local honor, and Omega’s first year having two advisors on the list.
  • At the beginning of the year, Jared was made a Senior Advisor after over 9 years at Omega.
  • Davis Gardner was named Lead Advisor after being with us 6+ years.
  • Andrew Mehari became our Chief Operating Officer at Omega and handles much of the day to day running of Omega’s business operations and also graduated from George Washington University.
  • Davis received his Registered Life Planner (RLP) designation and completed his Certified Kolbe Consultant training.
  • Saki Kurose completed her Enrolled Agent (EA) designation and became a Certified Financial Transitionist®.
  • Evelyn Ovando-Flores has taken over the day to day responsibilities for Client Service.

As we move into 2025, we realize that a number of our clients are navigating life transitions and many of us are feeling the uncertainty of the potential impact in a change in economic and government policies. While we are seeing the beginnings of some rather disruptive decisions and changes within the Trump Administration, it will take some time to truly understand the impact to our clients, the markets and the economy.  For the moment, we continue to monitor the news and to thoughtfully consider what that potential impact might be to you both in terms of your money and your life.  Stay tuned!

Thank you for being part of the Omega Family, whether it’s been for the last year or for the last 25+ years.  We are grateful to be able to grow and evolve with you and your family, in good times and more challenging times.  Here’s hoping you are having a good start to 2025!

Warmly,
